1 / Why community groups?

The Purpose of our Community Groups (CG) is to create a community where we encourage one another to understand, trust, and live out the Gospel in every part of our lives.

Community Groups are more than just bible studies, prayer meetings, or support groups. They are the best place to find care and connection at SBMC as we learn to love one another in Jesus. Each group is led by one (or two) of our wonderful CG leaders who are there to serve and care for you and the rest of the group.

We believe that the Gospel is the main ingredient bringing believers together rather than other common interests. As a result, groups are formed based on geographic location, so you'll usually find people from various life-stages and backgrounds at each CG.

2 / What groups do you have?

We currently have groups meeting throughout the South Bay, Los Angeles, and Orange County.

3 / What do you do during CG?

CG meetings usually begin with dinner, followed by a time of discussion, sharing and prayer. The meetings typically last about 2.5-3 hours.  Discussions are based on questions from the sermon guide which is passed out on Sundays at the welcoming table, so make sure to bring that with you to your CG! If you missed the sermon and/or need a copy of the guide, they can both be found on our website.
