Classes


Newcomers Class
If you are new to SBMC, we encourage you to take the Newcomers Class. You will have the opportunity to learn about our church, be introduced to our church leaders, and meet other newcomers. No sign-ups necessary; you will be contacted to join a Newcomers Class!
Christianity 101
This is a five-week class covering the essential teachings of Christianity held twice a year. Through weekly lectures & readings, the class will cover topics such as, “What is the Bible,” “Who is God?” and “Who is Jesus?” Whether you're a seasoned Christian or new to the faith, this is a great way to delve deeper into what you believe. Look out for sign-ups if you're interested!
Baptism
This is a three-week bible study where you will learn about the meaning and purpose of baptism to prepare you for your baptism day. Classes are held twice a year before Easter and Thanksgiving. Look out for sign-ups if you're interested!
Covenant Membership
Taking the Covenant Membership class is the first step to becoming a Covenant Member at SBMC. This three-week course will take you through the principles and guidelines of Covenant Membership. The class is held twice a year. Applications are open to those who've been attending Sunday service and Community Group consistently for at least 3 months. A referral from your CG leader is required, so please speak with your CG leader if you're interested in becoming a member.
Premarital Counseling
Premarital counseling is designed to prepare engaged couples for a biblical, gospel-centered marriage. Counseling is done with one of our pastors over the course of five weeks. If interested, please fill out the interest form at least four months prior to your wedding date. Priority is given to Covenant Members.
Baby Dedication
In this one-day class, parents will learn about the biblical model for raising children as well as the purpose of the dedication service. Parents should be Christians who attend SBMC regularly. Baby dedications are held as needed throughout the year.
